ELMO Single-8 8S-30T  
          
Overview

ELMO's x3 zoom Single-8 format camera. This is a very unique one.

This is a small camera, but has a very unique superimposition system.
(Please see 8S-40T photo)
This system is composed of external mirror, internal half mirror (beam splitter), and closeup lens.
Attach optional title holder and title card in correct position, left side of camera.
Swing open external mirror on left side of camera.
Shoot a superimposed title without resorting to double exposure.

Almost all of ELMO's Single-8 cameras have rewind mechanism.
And can film in reverse. Though the 8S-30T is a very cheap camera, it has useful and unique functions.
No manual exposure control. Only Backlight control.
No focus method. 18fps only.



  Impression

I don't have this camera.I have 8S-40T.
If you want to take strange image, this is good tool for you.
Retail price is middle range, but now very cheap secondhand camera in Japan.

Fuji Film made the last master roll of Single-8 film in Jan-Feb.

Fuji said that they couldn't reproduce the same films because there was no raw material.

They are examining whether new Single-8 film can be produced with their reversal film (for still photo) .
However, they have not promised to put a new commodity on the market.

 

 Fujifilm Imaging Co., Ltd put such paper on the Single-8 processed box, and returns it to the customers since last year.

  As you know, this papar says the termination of Single-8 film. They say;

 Fujifilm Imaging Co., Ltd has restarted  processing  Single-8 film,

 As of 7th January 2007,  they  don't  change the above schedule of termination.

This is a good news.

I heard that FUJI FILM IMAGING Co.,Ltd restarted Single-8 process on 20th December.

The ultra-sonic splicing machine was out of order for just one week.
(13th Dec-20th Dec)

FUJI FILM IMAGING Co.,Ltd offcially announced it to film dealers and custmers from 27th December.

In 14th Dec, Fujifilm Imaging Co.,Ltd sent a fax mail to film dealers.

Fuji said about apology for temporarily stopping of processing Single-8 film. It caused breakdown of ultra-sonic spilicer.

They say, "When does it recover, and we are not predictable".

Now, Fujifilm Imaging Co., Ltd returns undevelping film to the customer.

Fuji Film's Magne-stripe machine has been repaired!

On 22nd November, Fuji Film(Old name: Fuji Photo Film) started their magne-stripe service again.

Fuji said that they don't accept only "process and after-recording", but also edited films.

This is a good news.

Filmmover.exblog.jp(or film-expression) met Fuji Film, they heard it from Fuji Film Staff. Therefore, this is an official remark.

But, Fuji Film has never written about this on their site.

You should contact Fuji Photo Film wanting know more detailed information.
(especially, about edited-film-magnestripe)

If they provide service for super8, I am very glad.
Fuji Film had provided the magnetic-stripe service of Single-8 and Super8.
It was very high quality.
