FUJICA's Single-8 format silent camera.

This is the cheapest Single-8 camera which Fuji Photo Film released.
Fujinon F1.8,f=11.5mm fixed focus lens.
It has the variation of 5 colors.
A belt is equipped instead of a hand grip.

Overview
FUJICA's Single-8 format silent low light camera.

AX 100 has the fastest lens in Single-8. And it has shutter angle of 230 degrees(1/28sec).

Optional under-water housing "FUJICA MARINEPACK8 AX100"
When it is attached, this camera can be used up to a depth of 40m.(according to the manual)


Impression

I have this camera. AX 100 is very suitable for low light situations.
Because it is very small and light, this camera is useful for carrying.
One of its disadvantages is camera noise, the other is motion blur.
Slow shutter is useful for shooting in low light situations,but causes motion blur.

Overview

ELMO's x6 zoom Single-8 format silent camera.

8S-600 and 8S-800 are ELMO's highest single-8 camera series.
These two camera have 3 featured points.
1.48fps slowmotion
2. flash sync socket
3. magnetic release

As other ELMO's Single-8 camera, rewind/reverse shooting function is ok.
Using shutter angle control dial, you can make fade out/in and lap dissolve shot.

Impression

I have this camera.
This camera is very popular because of its multiple functions.
However, this camera has a disadvange.
Lens sharpness is not as good as Canon, Fujinon and Nikon.
Better than Sankyo, same as Chinon ( I feel)
Lens has yellow tint coating, so shots have yellowish tone. It's a matter of user's taste.
Zoom ring is not stiff, but zoom lever is very short.
Grip is removable.
Though it has many functions, this camera still weighs light.

This camera is very useful to shoot special effect image with Single-8 films.

This system is composed of external mirror, internal half mirror(beam splitter), and closeup lens.
Attach optional title holder and title card in correct position, left side of camera.
Swing open external mirror also on left side of camera.
Shoot a superimposed title without resorting to double exposure.

Almost all of ELMO's single-8 cameras have a rewind mechanism.
And, can film in reverse. Though the 8S-40T is a very cheap camera, it has useful and unique functions.
No manual exposure control. Only Backlight control.
Focus method is microprism. 18fps only.

I have this camera.
If you want to take a strange image, this is a good tool for you.
Retail price is middle range, but now very cheap secondhand camera in Japan.
8S-40T has focus method.
This is suitable for travel and daily use.

This is a small camera, but has a very unique superimposition system.

Fuji said that they couldn't reproduce the same films because there was no raw material.

They are examining whether new Single-8 film can be produced with their reversal film (for still photo) .
However, they have not promised to put a new commodity on the market.

 Fujifilm Imaging Co., Ltd put such paper on the Single-8 processed box, and returns it to the customers since last year.

  As you know, this papar says the termination of Single-8 film. They say;

Well, this time, the sales temination of Fujichrome single-8 film products beloved for a long time will be March, 2007.
We will continue developing until September, 2008.
